My name is Xuehua Xiang. I grew up in Southern China, studied applied linguistics in the Eastern US and now work in Midwest US. My research areas are multimodal interaction analysis, pragmatics, Chinese linguistics, question and answer systems across languages, and second language learning curriculum design. I'm interested in investing human communication problems using mixed research methods; I typically use qualitative research methods to drive hypotheses and patterns that can be tested in corpora.
