2014Q3 Reports: SIGDAT

SIGDAT, the ACL special interest group on Linguistic data and corpus-based approaches to NLP will be holding its annual conference, EMNLP-14 in Doha on October 18-21.
- Conference chair: Alessandro Moschitti
- Program chairs: Bo Pang and Walter Daelemans
- Workshops chairs: Enrique Alfonseca and Eric Gaussier
- Publication chair: Yuval Marton
It is being held as a stand-alone conference with attached workshops. More information about the conference can be found at http://emnlp2014.org/
The general consensus of the SIGDAT standing committee is that NLP is large enough for another major conference, and it is generally a good idea to have conferences throughout the year. Thus our intention is to continue with the stand-alone model.
EMNLP 2015 is planned as a stand-alone conference in Lisbon, Portugal.
The SIGDAT officers are

- Vice President: Mark Johnson
- Vice President Elect: Mark Steedman
- Secretary-Treasurer: Noah Smith
There is also as standing committee of about 45 members.
