EMNLP is being held as a stand-alone conference with 1 day workshops preceding and following the main conference. (Due to conference room scheduling constraints we were unable to do two consecutive days of workshops, which precludes larger 2-day workshops this year.) More information about the conference can be found at http://www.emnlp2016.net/

We plan to hold EMNLP 2017 as a stand-alone conference in Europe in September or October. The selection of region was based on a survey of the SIGDAT membership following the 2015 conference. The SIGDAT advisory board helped to brainstorm and rank European cities with NLP researchers, and the SIGDAT Secretary-Treasurer is proceeding through that list soliciting bids from potential local hosts.

The SIGDAT officers are

  President: Mark Steedman
  Vice President: Pascale Fung
  Vice President-Elect: Mirella Lapata
  Secretary-Treasurer: Chris Callison-Burch

There is also a standing committee of about 45 members, which can be found on the SIGDAT web site at http://emnlp.org.
