Summary

The ACL Special Interest Group on Language Technologies for the Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities (SIGHUM) is intended to provide a forum for CL researchers who are developing language technology for data from the socio-economic sciences or the humanities (SSH). It also functions as a contact point for SSH stakeholders.

Board

We solicited nominations for the new board in September/October 2015 via the SIGHUM mailing list. Since only one nomination was received for each of the positions, no elections were held. The new board started its work on January 1st, 2016.

* President: Caroline Sporleder (Göttingen University)

* Secretary: Kalliopi Zervanou (Utrecht University)

* Liaison officer: Michael Piotrowski (The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG), Mainz)

We would like to thank the outgoing board members for their great work.
