I received an MS in Computer Science from Sofia University and a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University. My dissertation was on machine learning models for syntactic and semantic analysis (my advisor was Christopher Manning).

I am a researcher in the Natural Language Processing group at Microsoft Research, Redmond. My research interests focus on modeling the structure of natural language, using machine learning. Most recently, I have been working on knowledge extraction, machine translation, summarization, and morphological and syntactic analysis. I served as a program co-chair for ACL 2014 and currently serve as a co-editor in chief for the TACL journal.
