SCOPE
The 1st Workshop on Data-to-text Generation covers a broad spectrum of areas aimed at: generating textual descriptions from data, decision support systems to facilitate data access using natural language; information presentation from data, summarisation from data etc. The workshop invites the submission of abstracts, e.g. on work in progress, system demonstrations, a negative result, an opinion piece or a summary of research activities. PhD students are highly encouraged to submit a summary of their work as it will be an excellent opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from experts in the field. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

- data-to-text applications
- designing and evaluating data-to-text systems
- generation from big data
- interpretation and reasoning of data using natural language
- language based decision support systems
- summarisation of time-series data
- uncertainty in data-to-text systems
- storytelling based on data
- concept-to-text generation

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

Authors should submit an abstract of at most 2 pages of content (up to 1 additional page is allowed for references) including summaries of research activities, work in progress, opinion pieces etc, following the formatting instructions below. The paper submissions should be sent to: data2text (the usual sign) googlegroups (dot) com. Abstract submissions will not be refereed, but evaluated for relevance only by the chairs. As such, papers do not need to be anonymised.
