The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum where international participants can share knowledge on the computer-assisted language learning. We solicit submissions of research studies on all topics related to NLP techniques for educational applications in terms of both full papers and short papers for either oral or poster presentation. We will give special attention to research that has taken computer-assisted Asian language learning into consideration. Besides, one of our key goals of this workshop is to foster collaboration between researchers and developers from computational linguistics and computer education areas. Original studies reporting joint work are therefore especially encouraged.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

l Content analysis for assessment
l Discourse and stylistic analysis

l Grammatical error detection and correction
l Learner corpus development and evaluation

l NLP tools for language learning

l Tools and applications for teachers, courseware, tests, and students

SUBMISSIONS
Submission is electronic, using the Softconf START conference management system. The submission site is now available at

The submission should follow the templates of AACL-IJCNLP2020 at http://aacl2020.org/calls/papers/

Long/short paper submissions must use the official AACL-IJCNLP 2020 style templates. Long papers must not exceed eight (8) pages of content. Short papers must not exceed four (4) pages of content. References do not count against these limits.

Note: The supplementary material does not count towards page limit and should not be included in paper, but should be submitted separately using the appropriate field on the submission website.

All submissions must be in PDF format and must conform to the official style guidelines, which are contained in the template files that will become available on the conference website shortly.
