Motivation
==========
The main motive behind the organization of South and Southeast Asian Natural Languages Processing workshops (WSSANLP) is to bring together the community working on the South and Southeast Asian languages covering all aspects of natural language processing, computational linguistics and linguistics such as development of computational resources, morphology, syntax, semantics and machine translation. This is a long term commitment and goal. WSSANLP is an annual event collocated with one of the major Computational Linguistics conferences and focusing on NLP issues of South and Southeast Asian languages. We have successfully organized the 1stWorkshop on South and Southeast Asian NLP at COLING 2010 in Beijing, China; 2nd Workshop on South and Southeast Asian NLP at IJCNLP 2011 in Chang Mai, Thailand; 3rd Workshop on South and Southeast Asian NLP at COLING 2012 in Mumbai, India; and 4th Workshop on South and Southeast Asian NLP at 6th IJCNLP 2013 in Nagoya, Japan. The 5th WSSANLP has been accepted as a collocated event in the 25th International Conference on Computational Linguistics (COLING 2014) August 23 - 29, 2014 at the Helix Conference Centre at Dublin City University (DCU), Dublin, Ireland. This conference is organized under the auspices of the International Committee on Computational Linguistics (ICCL).

Topic of Interest
=================

13. Communication of morpho-tactics with its neighboring layers in the linguistic process (i.e. Morpho-syntactics and Morpho-phonemics) for the said languages
14. Usability or extensibility of existing tools like KIMMO, XFST, ATEF, etc. for the development of morphological analyzer for South and Southeast Asian languages
15. Parsing

Instructions for Authors
========================
Authors are invited to submit substantial, original and completed research work relevant to the topics of the workshop in form of Regular Papers. Authors are also invited to submit a small, focused contribution, work in progress, a negative result and an opinion piece in form of Short Papers.
1. Two communication formats: Regular Papers (8 A4 sized pages of the main text and with additional 2 pages for references), Short Papers (4 A4 sized pages of the main text and with 2 additional pages of reference).
2. Two presentation formats: Oral for Regular Paper, Poster for Short Paper.
3. Papers that do not confirm to the specified length and formatting requirements are subject to be rejected without review.
4. If you do include any author names on the title page, your submission will be automatically rejected.
5. AT SUBMISSION TIME, PLEASE ANONYMISE everywhere.
6. Papers are in English.
7. Download the STYLE files from www.sanlp.org/wssanlp2014/cfp.html
8. Submission and reviewing will be on-line, managed by the START system. The only accepted format for submitted papers is PDF. Supplementary material- if any, in the form of tools or resources- must be in the form of a single .zip or a .tgz archive file with a maximum size of 10MB; otherwise there are no constraints on its format. Submissions, together with all supplementary material, must be uploaded on the START system by the submission deadlines; submissions after that time will not be reviewed. To minimize network congestion, we request authors to upload their submissions as early as possible (especially if they contain large supplementary material files).
