Christian Wartena holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Potsdam (Germany). He worked for various companies in the fields of machine translation, text mining, recommender systems and multimedia information retrieval. Since 2011 he holds a position as lecturer for knowledge and language processing at the Hochschule Hannover – University of Applied Sciences. His main interests are statistical approaches to lexical semantics and their potentials for applications like keyword extraction and information retrieval.
