Dr. Mohit Bansal is a research assistant professor at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, a philanthropically endowed academic computer science institute located on the University of Chicago campus. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, where his adviser was Dan Klein. He also holds an M.S. in Computer Science (UC Berkeley) and a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur). His research interests are statistical natural language processing and machine learning, with a focus on semantics and ontologies, syntactic parsing, coreference resolution, information extraction, and structured prediction. Academic honors include the Google Faculty Research Award 2014, the ACL 2014 Long Best Paper Honorable Mention, the 2011 Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship, the 2011-2012 Berkeley Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award, and the 2011 EECS Tong Leong Lim Pre-Doctoral Prize.
