I am Associate Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Languages at McMaster University. My interests are in psycholinguistics and corpus linguistics. I use text mining of social media (Twitter, Facebook) to study effects of personality traits on psychological distance, and gender/age differences in emotional responses to texts. I am a director of a vibrant Reading Lab, which combines experimental and computational methods to study language comprehension.
