Sangeet Khemlani received his Ph.D. in psychology from Princeton University in 2011. Since 2011, he was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Navy Center for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. Since 2014 he has served as an Engineering Research Psychologist at NRL.

Khemlani's research examines the mental representations and cognitive processes underlying deductive reasoning, creative thinking, and abductive explanations. He is a Princeton University Walker McKinney Life Sciences Fellow, an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, an Association of Psychological Science Rising Star, and a Jerome and Isabella Karle Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory.
