Rob Speer is an NLP researcher who develops vector space models of general knowledge, along with ways to automatically adapt them to domain-specific text. He is the chief scientist at Luminoso, an NLP startup in Cambridge, MA. He is the lead developer of the ConceptNet knowledge graph project, and he also maintains various other open-source NLP tools.

Rob Speer received an M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2007. He continued his work on NLP and knowledge representation at the MIT Media Lab until the group spun out as Luminoso. He has presented his work on ConceptNet at LREC 2012 and AAAI 2017.
