Instructions for Preparing SubmissionsSubmission InstructionsThese instructions are for authors of long and short papers submitted to the ACL 2010 main conference. Note that when submitting your paper you will be asked to select an appropriate category, which will determine the review form used to review your paper. Please see the review form webpage for a list of the categories and the review form for each category. Be sure to read the ACL 2010 Call for Papers Electronic submissions website Formatting InstructionsAll submissions must conform to the official ACL 2010 style guidelines and they must be electronic in PDF. Long papers may consist of up to 8 pages of content (excluding references), and short papers may consist of up to 4 pages of content (excluding references). Both long and short papers may include any additional number of pages consisting solely of references. Both long and short paper submissions should follow the two-column format of ACL 2010 proceedings. We strongly recommend the use of ACL LaTeX style files or Microsoft Word Style files tailored for this year's conference. It is very important to specify A4 paper size. The page limit has to be strictly observed. Do not include page numbers. They will be generated when compiling the proceedings. All manuscripts should look like the sample PDF file, which also contains detailed formatting requirements. ACL 2010 Style FilesImportant: Remove authors information from your manuscripts when submitting them for blind review!
Blind Review PolicyAs the reviewing will be blind, the paper must not include the authors' names and affiliations. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author's identity, e.g., "We previously showed (Smith, 1991) ...", must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as "Smith previously showed (Smith, 1991) ...". Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review.Title and Author Names Registered to the Submission SystemAuthor names and author information should not appear in the submitted PDF version for blind review. When author names are registered to the electronical submission system (and the final camera-ready copy), they should not be formatted in all capitals (e.g., use "Schlangen" not "SCHLANGEN"). Furthermore, the first name should be given first (i.e., use "Alfred V. Aho" instead of "Aho, Alfred V." or "Aho, A. V."). Do not format title and section headings in all capitals either except for proper names (such as "BLEU") that are conventionally in all capitals. Title and Author Names for Camera-Ready CopyThe title, author names and addresses in the final camera-ready copy should be completely identical to those entered to the electronical paper submission website in order to maintain the consistency of author information among all publications of the conference.
