Lizhen Qu received his Ph.D from Max Planck Institute for Informatics and University Saarland in 2013. Before that, he studied computer science in TU Kaiserslautern and earned his diploma degree in 2008.

His PhD research focused on devising novel machine learning models for sentiment analysis with low resources. His current research interests include representation learning, structured prediction, optimization, natural language processing and multimodal information processing.
