I am Jinfeng Rao, a PhD student at Department of Computer Science, University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining UMD, I got my bachelor degree with honor scholarship from College of Computer Science at Zhejiang University (in China) in 2013.

My advisor is Prof. Jimmy Lin. My research focuses on machine learning and information retrieval, with a particular emphasize on large-scale text processing. More recently, I am working on deep neural networks to improve search effectiveness in some information retrieval tasks (i.e. question answering, Tweet search).
