I am a first year PhD student at University of California, Davis, specializing in the study of text simplification, semantic parsing, and other natural language processing techniques. I am also interested in the use of word and sentence embeddings to inform social science, such as differing semantics among various sub-cultures. I graduated from UC Davis in 2018 with a BA (with Highest Honors) in Linguistics and a minor in Computer Science. I am currently working with Dr. Kenji Sagae on project involving the generation of lexical and sentence-level variety and with Dr. Zhou Yu on improving social chat bots.
