Aleksandr's research currently focuses around digital assistants, in particular their eyes-free form, such as Google Home or Amazon Echo. Dialogue plays major role in such systems. In particular, Aleksandr aims at rethinking information retrieval and exploration for this new surface and finding new ways of evaluating user experience.

He has experience in modeling and evaluating user experience of traditional search and aims to transfer this expertise over to the world of eyes-free assistants. Aleksandr received his PhD from the University of Amsterdam and has a number of publications and tutorials at WWW, SIGIR, CIKM, WSDM, ECIR and served as a PC member of CIKM, WSDM, WWW and multiple workshops.
