As a faculty member at Jackson State University since 2005, Dr. Wei Zheng has a passion for advancing engineering practice and education by developing and applying AI and relevant technologies. While pioneering emerging technologies, he has made tremendous efforts to broaden access to and participation in these innovations.

Dr. Zheng’s current research interest is to advance large language models as agents trained through self-supervised techniques like masked modeling, contrastive learning, and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) and quantify associated uncertainties for optimal industrial operation and maintenance, as well as automatically personalized instruction.
