The main action for the SIGHAN community this year has been to create the "First CIPS-SIGHAN Joint Conference on Chinese Language Processing (CLP2010)[1]". As is clear from the name, this conference is joint with CIPS, the Chinese Information Processing Society of China, the main association for Natural Language Processing. The conference will be held on August 28-29, 2010, immediately following (and in the same venue as) COLING 2010. In addition to the main conference, there will be bakeoffs[2] on word segmentation, parsing, personal name disambiguation, and word sense induction. The submission deadline was June 10, and the general chairs are Sun, Le, Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chen, Keh-Jiann, Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica.
