SIGPARSE is ACL's special interest group on natural language parsing. The main purposes of the SIG are: to promote interest in the parsing of natural languages; to provide a means of disseminating information about natural language parsing; to ensure the continuity of the biennial 'International Conferences on Parsing Technologies' (IWPT); and to endorse relevant meetings and workshops.

The next IWPT will be the 14th in the series, and will be held in Bilbao, Spain, 22-24 July 2015. The local arrangements committee is based at the University of the Basque Country, and is chaired by Koldo Gojenola. John Carroll (Sussex) is general chair for the conference, and the program chair is Stephan Oepen (Oslo). The conference has two invited speakers, Slav Petrov (Google) and Mirella Lapata (Edinburgh), and 15 papers have been accepted for presentation. The conference is co-located with the 6th Workshop on Statistical Parsing of Morphologically Rich Languages (SPMRL 2015).

In the past year, the SIG has endorsed the Joint Workshop on Statistical Parsing of Morphologically Rich Languages and Syntactic Analysis of Non-Canonical Languages, in August 2014.

The current SIGPARSE officers are: John Carroll (Sussex - President), Eric Villemonte de la Clergerie (INRIA - Secretary), Yuji Matsumoto (NAIST - Information Officer), and Kenji Sagae (USC - Information Officer). The next SIGPARSE elections will be held in late 2015, with the new SIG officers taking up their positions in January 2016.

SIGPARSE maintains a website that contains information about the SIG, upcoming activities, and instructions for joining the membership and the mailing list. Approximately 220 people are on the mailing list. The website address is http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~sigparse/
