2023Q1 Reports: CL Journal

During the past year (January to December 2022), CL journal received 138 first submissions of regular papers, survey proposals, and full survey papers. We have improved the average time to first decision of regular papers and full survey papers to 47 days (excluding desk rejects).

The published CL papers of the 4 issues in 2022 (March 2022 to December 2022) comprise 25 regular papers, 3 survey papers, 3 squibs, 2 last words papers, and 2 book reviews. The total number of pages of these four issues is 1,141.

Since March 2020, CL journal papers (regular papers only and excluding survey papers) are eligible for presentation at one of the *ACL/EMNLP conferences, if the papers are new (not extension of previous conference papers) and the authors choose to present their papers. Most authors opt to present their papers. 8 papers were presented at ACL 2022, 3 papers were presented at NAACL 2022, and 12 papers were presented at EMNLP 2022.

CL journal achieved an impact factor of 7.778 in 2021. This is the highest impact factor that CL journal has achieved since impact factors were tracked for CL journal in 1997. The list of all past CL impact factors is as follows:
