The SIG currently has 175 members and it still operated under the founding officers.
The main activity of the SIG MT is the organization of the 4th Conference on Statistical Machine Translation (WMT, formerly a workshop), which includes 7 official shared tasks. The conference took place in August in association with the ACL conference.
