2018Q3 Reports: Publicity Chairs
Besides disseminating information on multiple mailing lists early on, the main tasks leading up to the conference has been communication through social media (Twitter and Facebook) for announcements as well providing local information for the participants (e.g., information on the NLP conference group for accommodation sharing). We had two contacts from the media (TalktheTalk and a local Chinese media) to be present in the conference. Local chairs have arranged for their press badges. Took over the ACL instagram account from the last year's publicity chair, which is linked to the ACL organization and not specific to a conference year. Will follow the last year trend to do photo cataloging as well as to conduct 15-second-interviews throughout the conference to help promote work, increase activity engagement. Facebook and Twitter will be updated during the conference and promoted via hashtags and mentions used by the community (mainly @acl2018, #ACL2018, #NLProc).
