Joyce Chai is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of Michigan. Her research interests include semantics, discourse, and pragmatics and their applications in situated language processing, language grounding, human-agent language communication. Her recent work has focused on the intersection of language, vision, and robotics, particularly in the context of teaching robots new skills and knowledge through language communication. She currently serves as a PC Co-chair for ACL 2020.
