Caroline Sporleder obtained her PhD in Computational Linguistics from Edinburgh University. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tilburg (The Netherlands) and Saarland University (Germany). After a brief stay at Heidelberg University (Germany) as a stand-in professor she moved back to Saarbrücken to lead a junior research group. Currently she is a professor of Digital Humanities at Trier University. Her main interests lie in the area of computational semantics and discourse, especially the interface between both. She also works on textmining and applying NLP techniques to new text types especially from the Humanities.
