During its 53rd annual meeting in Beijing, China (July 26-31, 2015), the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) awarded its 2015 ACL Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof. Li Sheng.
Li Sheng (Chinese: 李生; Li is the family name; born in 1943), is a professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in China. Prof. Li began research on Chinese-English machine translation 30 years ago in 1985, making him one of the first Chinese scholars in this field.

Established in 2011, the ACL Fellows program recognizes ACL members whose contributions to the field have been most extraordinary. To date, there are 26 members of teh ACL that have been honored by the ACL as Fellows. At this time, we seek preliminary draft proposals from prospective bidders in the Americas. Promising bidders will be asked to provide additional information for the final selection.

The European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL) invites proposals to host the 2017 EACL conference, to be held in Europe, the Middle East or Africa (EMEA) in Spring (preferably April) 2017. From 2014 EACL takes place every 3 years. The 2017 conference will be the 15th meeting of the EACL.
We seek draft proposals from prospective bidders. Based on an evaluation of the draft proposals received, promising bidders will be asked to provide additional information for the final selection.
