Call for Bids: ACL 2017 55th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics

The Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) invites proposals to host the 55th Annual Meeting of the ACL, to be held in the Americas in June, July, or August 2017.

At this time, we seek preliminary draft proposals from prospective bidders in the Americas. Promising bidders will be asked to provide additional information for the final selection.

Bill Woods receives the 2010 ACL Lifetime Achievement Award

Speech given by ACL President Ido Dagan:

One perspective through which Bill Woods looks at himself is as a "problem solver". But this definition is not specific enough, because there are two ways to solve problems: one is to figure out what the solution for the problem is, while the other is to actually build something that solves it. Bill is definitely an outstanding representative of the latter approach.

Migrating media wiki sites to a new webhost

Wiki Migration from Server A to Server B (for all the four wikis)

1) In Server A, run the backup scripts to obtain the latest backups. They include the archives of files folder and database. Downloads these zip files and upload the backups to a temporary location on server B.

2) In Server B, install a copy of MediaWiki via the one click installer.

3) In Server B, note down the database and user account corresponding to the MediaWiki install.

ACL 2016 - Final Call For Bids

The Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) invites proposals to host the 54th Annual Meeting of the ACL, to be held in Europe, the Middle East or Africa (EMEA) in June, July, or August 2016.

At this time, we seek preliminary draft proposals from prospective bidders in EMEA. Promising bidders will be asked to provide additional information for the final selection.
