EACL 2012
In answer to the Call for Bid issued on March 2009, the EACL board has received 3 bids for hosting the EACL 2012 conference. All of the three bids have been added to the short list and feedback on the drafts has been sent out on November 2009. The board is now waiting for the final bids, which are due on January 22, 2010. Deadline for notification to bidders is March 26, 2010.

Policy on EACL conference schedule
Upon a request from the ACL exececutive committee, through the Sudoku committee, the EACL board has decided to adopt a new policy for the schedule of the EACL conferences. Accordingly, starting with year 2014, the stand-alone EACL conferences will be held in those years in which the ACL conference takes place in the American Region. This policy will contribute to equalizing the number of CL conferences held each year.
EACL newsletter
Since 2006 EACL has been issuing one newsletter per year, reporting on main CL events taking place in Europe and geographically related areas. With the main goal of reviving its relationships with the several regional CL organizations in Europe, the EACL board has now decided to add a second newsletter per year, reporting on the regional conferences organized by these associations. This will start with year 2010.
Nominations to ACL sponsorship committee for 2010
The EACL board has nominated the following people as regional representatives for the European region in the ACL sponsorship committee for 2010:

EACL Sponsorships
EACL has decided that it will provide support for the Student Research Workshop at ACL 2010 in Uppsala, in the form of student grants, with an amount of 2000 Euros.
