2015Q3 Reports: SIGDAT

SIGDAT, the ACL special interest group on Linguistic data and corpus-based approaches to NLP will be holding its annual conference, EMNLP-15 in Lisbon on September 17–21.

• Program chairs: Chris Callison-Burch and Jian Su
• Workshops chairs: Zornitsa Kozareva and Jörg Tiedemann
• Publication chair: Daniele Pighin and Yuval Marton

It is being held as a stand-alone conference with attached workshops. More information about the conference can be found at http://www.emnlp2015.org/

The general consensus of the SIGDAT standing committee is that NLP is large enough for another major conference, and it is generally a good idea to have conferences throughout the year. Thus our intention is to continue with the stand-alone model.

EMNLP 2015 is planned as a stand-alone conference in Lisbon, Portugal.

The SIGDAT officers are

• Secretary-Treasurer: Noah Smith

There is also as standing committee of about 45 members.
