Progress
In the last report, we reported the selection of Melbourne as the venue for ACL 2018. The conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, July 15-20 2018.
Since that report:
- We are very pleased to report that Claire Cardie has accepted to be general chair for the conference.
- The website has been established at acl2018.org and will be filled with content as the preparations continue.
- The contract has been signed with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and the first deposit has been paid.
- The coordinating committee has established a ranked short list for the program co-chairs and first invitations have been sent out.
Upcoming tasks
We hope to finish these tasks in the next couple of months:
- The program co-chairs will be announced as soon as they have accepted the invitation.
- The other conference chairs will be selected by the general chair with support from the coordinating committee.
Further ahead, we should start on collecting preliminary local information, preparing an initial conference announcement, and make contact with the ACL sponsorship committee.
