2017Q1 Reports: CL Journal
Our raw submission numbers for 2016 comprise 102 first submissions, of which 10 were requested to revise and resubmit, 55 were rejected (of which 51 as not suitable); one was accepted, and 19 decisions are still pending. We received 17 survey proposals, 13 were rejected (12 as not suitable), three are under revision and one was accepted.
Average time to first decision including survey proposals is 33 days and average time to first decision excluding "reject (not suitable)" is 53 days. The journal has drawn submissions from 35 different countries (according to country of affiliation of first author).
In the last quarter of the year we published a very topical special issue on Formal Distributional Semantics, edited by guest editors Aurelie Herbelot and Gemma Boleda.
We will being publishing all Computational Linguistic articles under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND license beginning with the March 2017 issue. The new articles will be tagged as "Open Access" articles on the MIT Press site.
