ACL-2018 Australia/New Zealand Sponsorship Report

The responsibilities for the sponsorship were split between Cécile Paris and Ben Hachey for the sponsors in Australia and New Zealand, and Priscilla Rasmussen (ACL) for all other sponsors.

While the major sponsors came from outside Australia and New Zealand (in particular, from the US and China), we were able to attract some sponsors in Australia as well: a gold sponsorship, a couple of Bronze sponsorships, the sponsorship for the Student Volunteers, and a few supporters. The sponsors in Australia include the major research institutions conducting research in Computational Linguistics (CSIRO – Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, the National Research Institute in Australia; DSTG – Defence Science and Technology Group, who conducts research in all areas related to Defence in Australia, and the Digital Health Collaborative Research Centre (DHCRC), a university (Monash) and a company (Sintelix).

We note that we contacted many organisations in Australia but that it was difficult to obtain many sponsors from the region.
