The SIG currently has 180 members and it operated under the following officers:
- President: Lexi Birch
- Secretary: Antonis Anastasopoulos
- North America: Marine Carpuat
- Europe: Ondrej Bojar
- Asia: Masao Utiyama
The main activity of the SIG MT is the organization of the 7th Conference on Machine Translation (WMT, formerly a workshop), - https://statmt.org/wmt22/ - which includes 13 official shared tasks. The conference takes place in December in association with the EMNLP conference.
